Pip Grinter, in his own words:

My pursuit into flute-making is deeply personal as I am now following in my late father’s footsteps and wish to continue our family’s creative legacy. Much of my childhood was spent immersed in my parent’s workshop and this sowed the seeds for my journey into a creative career.

The Grinter Workshop was founded over 35 years ago by Michael Grinter and Helen McGeachin. During this time it developed into one of the world’s highest profile flute-making workshops. Grinter flutes and recorders were and still are demanded globally by professionals, students, and leading players alike. Each instrument was individually hand-crafted by my father to the most exacting specifications and standards.

In 2019 I began the process of relaunching Grinter Flutes ensuring the knowledge and craft of the Grinter workshop is kept alive for another generation.
